Description
FCMA Soft Starter working principle
FCMA soft starter full form is FLUX COMPENASTED MAGNATIC AMPLIFIER soft starter are step less, reduced voltage starter which ensures constant starting low current with incremental voltage & torque to the motor – to achieve smooth acceleration of motor. The soft Starter connected in series of the motor and thus controls the starting current & torque. As the motor speed increases FCMA impedance decreases due to back emf feedback to achieve incremental voltage & torque for the motor while keeping the current constant. A voltage across the motor increases smoothly from the starting value (50 – 60 %) to run value(94-98%) with motor speed. A built in contactor closes to ensure full voltage running of the motor. By pass contactor operation can be Time, Current or Speed based.
