Water activated tape, also called gummed paper tape or gummed tape, is a starch- based adhesive. Before closing corrugated fiberboard boxes, the tape is moistened with water. As the adhesive will bond with the fiberboard material to create a strong durable seal and ensure a tough handling during shipping. The tape usually works well on recycled and non-unitized loads. Its reinforced construction assures reliable performance across a range of environments and applications. Paper tape is an economical packaging tape that will meet the needs of numerous industries and general industrial applications such as food, beverage, medical pharmaceutical, paper, print, electronics, shipping and distribution centers. Application is most easily accomplished at room temperature and once applied; the tape performs well throughout the normal temperature ranges typically encountered by packaged products in shipping and storage environments.
