Description
wo jaws will be mounted on a rail. One of the jaws will unload the finished job and the otherwill pick up a gear blank from conveyor chain and place it on the collet of the hobber . The machine willhave a PLC controller which will control the gears hobber’s tail stock and switching ON/OFF of themachine.The rail is fixed to the machine. One end of the rail is fixed to the bracket placed at the rightside of the collet and the other end is at the outside of the door of the machine. The rails have 2 slidebar one above the other with linear bearings and oil seals. Four extra oil seals or dampers will be usedto clean bars while travelling of jaws. The position of the rail can be adjusted both horizontally andvertically.The jaws are fixed on a mount, one for loading and other for unloading. The assembly willmove back and forth by means of a fluid drive. The gripping action of the jaws will be controlled bypneumatic cylinders and spring mechanism. Different gear blanks will require different set of jaws foraccuracy positioning. (We will try to have single set of jaws for the different work pieces.)The conveyor chain is five feet long. The jobs are loaded on one side of it. The finished jobswill be unloaded on the other side of the chain and further conveyed to the next machine. The chain willhave studs to place and grip the jobs in place. The studs will remain the same for the range of gearsize. Different mechanism will be employed to locate the jobs while picking up. The chain will be drivenby a three phase motor and a VFD
