Description
DESIGN OF CONVEYOR
The overall design is very sturdy. The bearing are designed for long working life and properly sealed against dust. The heavy duty base of the conveyor prevents vibration at the brushing unit.
The brushing unit does not require any special foundation. The working height can be adjusted to suit the electrode press height.
Main CONVEYOR
The transverse conveyors carry the electrodes from the extruder to the brushing conveyor. The speed has to be adjusted to suit the wire feeder speed.
The conveyor consists of narrow v-grooved belts driven by a permanened DC Drive motors the speed can be infinitely adjusted. Permanent magnets are mounted underneath the moving belts to hold down the electrodes. The entire belt assembly can be swiveled for easy alignment to the die head.
BRUSHING CONVEYOR
The electrodes which are transferred by the transverse conveyor are stopped by the stop disc mounted on the conveyor. They fall on the main conveyor moving at a steplessly variable speed. The electrodes are parallelized by the corrugated belts & aligned by the lateral alignment belts before they undergo the brushing operation of holder and striking end simultaneously.the holder end is brushed by two metal wire brushes and the striking end is slightly brushed by a special emery sleeve at high rotating speeds. During the brushing operation the electrodes are
accelerated by the acceleration belts which move faster than the main belt underneath. The relative speed difference make the electrodes rotate by more than 360 degree. At brushing spot to clean off the unwanted flux at the holder and striking end.
The belts and the brushing machine are adjustable for different electrodes length (in the range of 350mm to 450mm length and 2mm to 15mm diem.)
