Description
ASME SA 335 Grade P91 Alloy Steel Pipes are made up of a chromium molybdenum alloy. These pipes have 1% molybdenum, 9% chromium and nickel, manganese, silicon and carbon in them. The ASTM A335 P91 Pipe has very high tensile strength, yield strength, impact cracking resistance, corrosion cracking resistance and oxidation resistance. The A335 P91 Chrome Pipe composition makes it possible for the material to have these high mechanical properties. The P91 steel pipe material could be either normalized and tempered or quenched and tempered during production. These methods add to the strength of the materials. Also, these pipes are drawn and seamless.
The ASTM A335 gr P91 seamless pipes has the advantage of possessing accurate dimensions which in turn is useful in applications that require high precision. The petrochemical industries, oil and gas industries, power generation plants and refineries often involve high temperatures and pressures. Due to the higher mechanical properties of the a335 gr P91 alloy pipes it is used widely in these industries. The SA 335 gr P91 alloy steel pipe comes in different dimensions and shapes. The wall thickness varies from 3-12 mm depending on the diameter and the pressure class of the pipes. There different schedules of the P91 metal pipes material that corresponds to different pressure classes. The sa335 P91 seamless pipes can withstand high pressure and temperature and also could be fitted with welding to other pipes and fittings. Due to the high ease of welding, the ASTM A335 grade P91 welded pipes can be welded well to make a piping system. The pipes have different tolerance levels and testing standards based on the application requirements, grades, schedules and pressure classes of the pipe material.
