ERW Pipe:

ERW Pipes are Electric Resistance Welded Pipes which are used for various purposes. They are strips of hot rolled steel which are formed into rolls and then welded by an electric charge. These ERW Steel Pipes are available in pipes and tubes. ERW pipes are available in a various sizes from 1/2 inch OD up to 24 inches OD. They are available in many lengths as well, that go up to 100 feet.
ERW pipes may be bare or coated. Processed pipes are also available. There are many qualities, wall thicknesses and diameters.

Electric Resistance Weld (ERW) Pipe:

Pipe having one longitudinal seam formed by electric resistance welding (ERW) or electric induction welding without the addition of extraneous (filler) metal

Welded (also Electric Resistance Welded ("ERW"), and Electric Fusion Welded ("EFW")) pipe is formed by rolling plate and welding the seam. The weld flash can be removed from the outside or inside surfaces using a scarfing blade. The weld zone can also be heat treated to make the seam less visible. Welded pipe often has tighter dimensional tolerances than seamless, and can be cheaper if manufactured in the same quantities.

Pipe Ends:

The ends that ERW Pipes have may be square, beveled ends for welding, threaded and coupled or Victaulic grooved.

Material & Process Used:

In the manufacture of ERW Pipes, low carbon steel is used as the basic raw material. A good quality ERW pipe is continuously cast, fully killed, control rolled, and fine grained. The product of these processes has high resistance to corrosion, deformability, strength and toughness.

Application of ERW Pipes:

These pipes and tubes find use in engineering applications, line pipes, fencing, scaffolding and so on. They are also used in agriculture, plumbing, drinking water, extraction of water, thermal power, water pumping, structural purposes, protection of telecom cables etc.
